Steps

1. Wander around Lumbridge, the first place you appear. Talk to the tutors about skills. They will help you with combat, magic, ranging, crafting, smithing, fishing, woodcutting, and firemaking! They will teach you about the skills, and sometimes give you the stuff you need.
2. Explore the other parts of Runescape. Go to the closest city, like AlKharid. Take time to look around where you are and see is what can be seen. If you don't know where you are and you are somewhere common of people to be going there, you may be called a noob.
3. If you're still lost, go to the general store, and buy a newcomer map for 2 gp.
4. When you have memorized the paths around Lumbridge, walk north to Varrock, the biggest city in the free world. There are lots of secret things to find: quests, banks, stores, and lots more.

Even though people may call you noobs they will still be helpfull so follow them and ask them to take you to a place you know your way around like lumbridge

Tips

• When you first enter the world of Runescape, you start out with 25gp. With that you can buy the basic things you need.
• Don't be afraid to ask where you are.
• If someone calls you a noob don't be offended, they were once noobs as well.
• If you're lost you can always check the World Map which is located on top of the game, by the World Select and Rules.
• If you're really lost with nobody close to you, use the home teleport in your spell list and that will take you back to lumbridge.
• Look for signposts at crossroads. They will help you find common places.
• Try to get some teleportation items, like law runes, teletabs, ectophial, games necklaces, rings of dueling, lyre, ect.

Warnings

• If you are lost in a common place you may be called a noob.
• If someone asks you to follow them and it's too far to the north, chances are you're being tricked into the wilderness.
• If you do want to go to varrock, I suggest you go east of varrock and go west into varrock. Just south of varrock are dark wizards that will attack low levels and usually kill you. Don't fall for this popular scam from higher levels.
